What are you talking about Linhk? We are in the midst of a recovery. Economic indicators are improving with most saying the best in four years. Yesterday we heard manufacturing is doing its best since 2008. today consumer confidence is up. Unemployment down. The thought of a double dip is waning. The auto companies are strong again with GM posting its best gains in years.
Are you trying to convince people to vote for someone else based on your false statements?
I'm afraid 4 more years with Obama in there would be far worse than the last 4 because he would have nothing to lose since he can't be elected again. I think he has reigned himself in a bit because of re-election hopes, but rather than learning from mistakes he's made the last 4 years he'd just go hog wild and the USA would be in for even more of a 'world of hurt'. That said, I don't think there is a potential Republican candidate how would be much better.
No matter who wins this time I think we all have to be prepared for 4 more years of recession and worse. It's a shame that only the super-rich can even consider running since that leaves out any possibly potential honest middle class person who might actually understand the 98%.
"Anybody who voted for Obama in 2008 to prove they weren't racist should vote for ANYBODY else in 2012 to prove they aren't stupid"
Absolutely perfectly said!!!
Although there are no republicans running that I would have much more faith in either. This is the first election that I haven't been able to choose one candidate as being at least 'the lesser of evils'. I think Romney will probably end up being the candidate but I don't think he has any clue about how the average person lives or what matters to us.
Marco Rubio would have been the best nominee hands down, but sadly he didn't run. A lot of people who are voting for Obama still don't understand his real agenda. They think he is the champion of the middle class but in fact if he gets his way, he will obliterate the middle class with huge and ever widening tax increases, government regulation and social engineering.
Until the GOP moves away from big government / corrupt corporations and stays true to the spirit of the constitution, we can expect people to vote for more "hope and change" however empty that promise may be.
You do know that Congressperson's maintain their residency status in their home states and do not change it to Washington DC while they serve, don't you?
Why hasn't anyone in the news media bothered to print the fact that Santorum tried to rob the Pa taxpayers blind, while in office, by declaring a residence outside Phil., Pa. as his legal residence (instead of his legal residence outside D.C.) in order to have his children educated by the cyber-school system. This cost the taxpayers a ton of money until someone caught this lie and he had to pay back all the money to Pennsylvania. Why hasn't this been in the news - along with all his other antics while serving Pa.
garder, I have to nod to town citizen...Ron Paul has skewed and dangerous foreign policies. He is witty and no person can question his loyalty to the US Constitution, but his foreign policy, or lack of it, directly affects our security and our economics. What he is doing by staying the course, however is upsetting the GOP race for the other candidates. As much as I would like to see a third party emerge, the reality is that it won't, not in our lifetime. That being said, he is hurting this nomination by his dogmatic stance.
He believes America should work on America, not police the world and have our nose in other's business. A lot of people like that stance on foriegn policy. Also, he is extremely well versed in economics. Libertarians have a lot of good ideas. A lot I don't agree with though.
I mean no disrespect. But, I just don't understand the fascination some have with Ron Paul. I just can't see any possibility of his election as president, ever. I may or may not like the others, but I can at least visualize them, along with Obama, as actual candidates with some potential for victory. What am I missing or where am I wrong? I would respectfully like to know. Thank you.
I would choose Ron Paul, but his age is a big worry. Romney is out of touch with the real world, Santorum is an ultra-conservative who doesn't relate to the moderates and Gingrich is Gingrich.
Does not appear that many have checked Slick Rick's background. Santorum is nothing but a frothy mixture of self-interest and careerism in a career largely devoted to looking out for his friends in the big corporations (Wal-Mart, for one) and the wealthiest 1% of Americans. Any candidate who is against raising the minimum wage and favors cutting overtime for blue collar workers does not deserve to be elected since he does not support ALL the people.
