Woman charged with making false reports
WELLSBORO — Terri L. Sweet, 25, of 229 Cherry Flats Road, Mansfield, has been charged by state police with making false reports to law enforcement after she claimed she had been assaulted by her boyfriend last month.
Sweet called police on April 9 to report that her boyfriend, Brian A. Carey, 23, had allegedly hit her with a guitar string, leaving marks on her, according to documents filed with District Judge Phillip Sweet’s office.
Police say when they got to the residence, Sweet had changed her story and said she had not been assaulted but that, during an argument, Carey threw a guitar string at her and it became unraveled in flight and hit her on the back, but she didn’t have any injuries.
Sweet was issued a summons to appear.
