School bus driver who dropped gun at school is suspended
ANNVILLE, Pa. (AP) - A school bus driver who mistakenly dropped a loaded handgun in the parking lot of a Lebanon County school has been suspended by the company that employs her.
The school said police determined that the driver, whose name wasn’t released, has a valid concealed-weapon permit but didn’t realize the gun had been put in her purse by another family member.
She dropped it outside Annville-Cleona Secondary School on Thursday morning. The high school and middle school facility was locked down for about 90 minutes after a student discovered the .22-caliber weapon and turned it over to a teacher.
The school district says the driver’s employer, D.B. Fisher School Student Transportation Inc., suspended her.
