Local roundup: PC nets two wins
The Penn College women's volleyball team got two victories Sunday, defeating PSU-New Kensington 3-2 in a thrilling five-set match after cruising past PSU-Allegheny 3-0. Alysa Covas had three aces, 12 kills, nine digs and two blocks in the win over New Kensington, one where the Wildcats trailed 2-1 before winning the fourth game 25-23 and the fifth 15-11. Karlee Shubert had seven kills and 10 solo blocks in the match. Penn College faces PSU-Abington and PSU Brandywine Tuesday in a doubleheader at PSU-Hazleton. •The Lock Haven field hockey team (10-3) dropped a 3-1 decision to visiting and 14th ranked Penn State (7-4) today on LHU's Charlotte Smith Field. Freshman Kaitlyn Smyth scored the Lady Eagles' only goal, marking the first of her LHU. Sophomore goalie Erin Terreson made two saves for LHU.
