Music and ministry
As part of a long standing tradition, the New York Salvation Army Staff Band will come to the Williamsport area to display their wealth of musical talent.
The Billtown Brass, a part of the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra, will join the Staff Band for an evening of powerful and uplifting music at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at South Williamsport Area High School, 700 Percy St.
The Billtown Brass
The Billtown Brass was formed in 2000 as an out-of-doors extension for the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra.
Since then, the group has become a local favorite known for eclectic programming that appeals to a broad audience.
Repertoire is selected from British brass band standards, as well as ballads, big band jazz, classical transcriptions, Broadway and Hollywood favorites, marches, and patriotic gems.

Maj. Richard Munn is a fourth-generation Salvationist. Born in London, England, he spent the first 10 years of his life in the Congo, where his parents were missionary teachers for the Salvation Army.
