Polygamy

May 17, 2008

The history of human civilization is full of polygamist communities. The group in Texas is just the most recent public example of these communities. I'm sure I join most people when I roll my eyes and think, "What a load of garbage," when I hear polygamists justify their lifestyle.

One thing that has always struck me about these communities is that we never see one where the wives have multiple husbands. Now, I realize many women are thinking, "Why? One husband is enough work." I have to admit, that is a good point. But, I digress.

I am looking forward to the day when a multiple-husband community makes the headlines. For one thing, such a community would show in a most powerful and unique way, the hypocrisy and stupidity of polygamy. Who knows, I might even send them money.
